This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The bottom has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
I really am. I have over 9000 deviations that i haven't looked at, and every time I look at that number it's even more discouraging to even try. It's the worst, and then I feel like i shouldn't upload MY work, because why would I deserve any comments if i haven't bothered to comment on all of the pieces being posted by the people I'm following?? It's like I feel the need to punish myself for how irresponsible I've been. The sad thing is that I've been working. A lot! I've been doing all sorts of neat drawings, but I've just found it so difficult to maintain an online presence here in DA, when uploading works and opinions everyday becomes more and more difficult while it gets easier and easier to do so on Tumblr.
That's another thing. Tumblr has made the sharing of my work so much easier. You literally just upload, write a description, some tags, and then it's off into the world, ready to be liked and reblogged by whomever likes it enough. Here you have to categorize it (poorly, I might add) and the specify 4 or 5 things before uploading it. It's not terribly difficult, but I'm sure telegrams weren't that difficult until phones came around. Then telegrams probably seemed ridiculous. I'd love a tumblr-like dashboard interface in which I'd be given all the lastest deviations in chronological order. I'd be able to scroll through them, fave the ones I like, or click on a button that would allow me to add comments, and not have to go through the hassle of being in a deviation page. Artists would still have their profiles, but it would move further and further down chronologically through each user's dashboard. A boy can dream. I'd love to see that. it would be like tumblr, but with more emphasis on peer interaction. You could still have comment-conversations and notes wouldn't have to be published publicly.
The sad thing is that a lot of cool people have been following me here. I'm proud to say that I've accumulated a great number of artistic friends through deviantart. These are people whom I consider to be contemporaries. People I'll be following through out their growing professional endeavors and people who actually also want to follow mine. People whose work I truly admire and for some reason have decided that my work is acceptable in their eyes too. So, what the hell? Why am I not posting more? This is my official apology. I'll do as much as I can to:
1.) Post my recent pieces and sketches. 2.) Look through, comment and/or fave the past 200-ish deviations at least. 3.) Reply to the piles of comments and replies I've been hoarding.
Again. I'm generally sorry for being a crap-member of DA, but let it be known that I'm trying, and that at least I care. -Daniel

yes! it's been a really long time. I've been well, I've been exploring other sides of art and creativity and influences and seeing where all of that would take me, and you?
Trying to finish school. I may have a whole in a my pocket for a second but I'm almost done. Ive been getting into storybodaring and character design a bit. Other than that working on 2d animation and planning to get another computer so I can practice my 3d.
